Bobby Ray Stewart, also known as, "HiWay", was born on April 11, 1967, to the parentage of Ruby Jean Stewart and Robert Stewart, Jr.

He graduated from Tri-County High School, Buena Vista, Georgia where he was a member of the marching band. After graduating, he joined the U.S. Navy in 1985 and was honorably discharged in 1989.
