Willie Lawrence Waye, the son of Mary Louise Waye and Robert Kelly, was born on October 17, 1958, in Webster County, Preston, Georgia.
Willie matriculated in the Stewart County School System where he graduated from Stewart County High School in the Class of 1976. After graduating, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he proudly served his country for three years. Later, he graduated with a bachelor*s degree from the Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, North Carolina (Historical Black College University (HBCU). He volunteered as a Sunday school teacher after giving his life to the Lord while in North Carolina. During the 1990's, he returned to Georgia. Upon his return, he followed his passion for computer science and began working on his master's degree from Georgia State University. Other than computer science, he had a love for sewing, music, and dancing.
Family members who preceded him death include the following: his parents, Mary L. Waye and Robert Kelly and his wife, Lillie Ruth Waye.
He leaves to cherish his memories: a daughter, D*Andra Waye of Marietta, Georgia; two brothers, Larry Waye (Jackolyn) of Columbus, Georgia and Lonzie Waye of Mannheim, Germany; two sisters, Brenda Waye (Jerome) of Powder Springs, Georgia and Kathy West (Ronald) of Jacksonville, Florida; two nieces, Crystal and Jasmine; three nephews, Maurice, Marvin, and Robin; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
