Mrs. Annie Clyde Upshaw of 171 Howell Dr. SW, Atlanta, Georgia, formerly of Lumpkin, Georgia, passed on December 31, 2009 at Fox Glove Court Nursing Home, Atlanta, Georgia.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 12:00 P.M. at Greater Saint Mark A.M.E. Church, Cotton Street, Lumpkin, Georgia. The burial service will follow in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery, Lumpkin, Georgia.

A Time to be Born:
Mrs. Annie Clyde Upshaw was born November 8, 1924, in Stewart County, Georgia, to the late Willie and Irena Hardwick.
A Time to Live:
Mrs. Upshaw joined Union Grove A.M.E. Church at an early age. After retiring and relocating to Stewart County from New Orleans, Louisiana in 1986, she joined Greater St. Mark A.M.E. Church, where she served faithfully as a steward, stewardess, missionary, and a choir member until her health failed. Annie was joined in holy matrimony to Johnny L. Upshaw. This union was blessed with one son.
A Time to Die:
Annie Clyde Upshaw entered into eternal rest on December 31, 2009, at Fox Glove Court Nursing Home, Atlanta, Georgia.
A Time to Mourn:
She leaves to cherish and celebrate many joyous memories: one son, Ossie L. Upshaw of Atlanta, Georgia; a devoted daughter-in-law, Corene W. Upshaw of Atlanta, Georgia; one brother, Clifford Hardwick, Sr. of Hollywood, South Carolina; one granddaughter, Pamela Upshaw and one great- grandson, Amyas O.G. Hayes of Atlanta, Georgia; a devoted niece, Tressye Hardwick of Lumpkin, Georgia; three devoted nephews, Earl Hardwick of Charleston, South Carolina, Jeff Hardwick, Jr. of Stone Mountain, Georgia, and Richard Hardwick of Quincy, Florida; other nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins and friends.
