Mr. Donald Eugene Scales, Sr. of 904 Church Street, Richland, Georgia passed away on November 14, 2009 at his residence.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at New St. Mark Baptist Church, 608 Bush Street, Richland, Georgia.
Donald Eugene Scales, Sr. was born July 13, 1967 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born to Jury Scales and the late Ronald E. Scales, Sr. He departed this life on November 14, 2009 at his residence.
He was a loving brother to his two brothers and one sister. At the age of ten, Donald accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and was baptized at Lower Sardis Baptist Church, Richland, Georgia.
Donald graduated from Stewart-Quitman High School, Lumpkin, Georgia in 1985. He loved to sing and write poems. After graduation, he joined the Marines. Donald also attended the Academy in Orlando, Florida and graduated with a certificate in management.
He leaves to mourn his passing: a loving mother, Jury B. Scales of Richland, Georgia; his children, Courtney White, Takella Rivers, Dontae Goodwin, and Donald Scales, Jr.; two brothers, Ronald (Valerie) Scales of Atlanta, Georgia and William (Jasmayne) Scales of Macon, Georgia; one sister, Cynthia Scales of Columbus, Georgia; five uncles, Willie James Moses of Lumpkin, Georgia, Rev. Richard Moses, Jr. of Richland, Georgia, Felton Moses of Jacksonville, Florida, Charles Wallace of Windsor, Connecticut, and James Watson of Richland, Georgia; six aunts, Marjorie Threats of Richland, Georgia Maggie Moses of Richland, Georgia, Bobbie J. Wallace of Windsor, Connecticut, Ruth Paris of Columbus, Georgia, and Mary Watson and Mattie Watson of Phenix City, Alabama ; two great-aunts, Betty Askin of Jacksonville, Florida and Doris Brown of Columbus, Georgia; two great-uncles, Edward Bush of Jacksonville, Florida and Charles Rogers of Richland, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, a special friend, Stacy Goodwin of Cuthbert, Georgia, and other friends.
