Edward Walton

Mr. Edward Walton of Richland, Georgia passed away on April 9, 2010 at his residence.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at New Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Kimbrough, Georgia. The burial will follow in Bethel A.M.E. Church Cemetery, Richland, Georgia.



Edward Walton was born February 11, 1949 to Juanita E. Walton and the late Jacob Walton in Stewart County. He departed this life April 9, 2010 at his residence in Richland, Georgia.

"Sugarman," as he was called by family and friends, was a very hard worker. He worked as a molding finisher for many years at Redman and Southeast Modular Homes. He attended Ida S. Lowery High School, Preston, Georgia. At an early age, he joined New Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Kimbrough, Georgia. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories: a devoted companion, Mildred Bass of Richland, Georgia; a loving mother, Juanita E. Walton of Richland, Georgia; five children, Jonathan Bass and Valerie Bass, both of Richland, Georgia, Catrina (Andre) Richardson and Eric (Renai) Walton, both of Columbus, Georgia, and Natasha (Brian) Brown of Atlanta, Georgia; (One son, Jeffery Walton, preceded him in death); twenty grandchildren; two sisters, Jacqulyn Muff of Hackensack, New Jersey and Pearline (GeGe) Walton of Preston, Georgia; three brothers, Charlie Johnson of Richland, Georgia, Willie (Darlene) Durham and Bruce Durham, both of Weston, Georgia; five aunts, Pauline Burnett of Brooklyn, New York, Eunice Garlington of Durham, North Carolina, Carolyn Hardwick, Ethel Johnson, and Lillie Johnson, all of Richland, Georgia; five uncles, Samuel Garlington of Durham, North Carolina, Nelson Johnson of Atlanta, Georgia, Clyde Johnson, Henry Hardwick, and John Johnson, all of Richland, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, a devoted and caring friend, John L. Josey of Richland, Georgia, and other friends.
