God saw the road was getting rough, the hill was hard to climb,
He gently closed your eyes in peace and whispered, "Peace be thine."
Howard was born September 19, 1930 in Dallas County, Alabama to the late Racheal and Howard Bennett, Sr. He confessed hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized. He was a faithful employee for thirty years at St. Regis Paper Company. Two brothers, Julius Harris and Earnest Bennett, preceded Howard in death.
On March 8, 2010 at the St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, Georgia, the Lord looked down and saw his child in distress. He called his name and said, "Well done my good and faithful servant, well done!" He answered the call and went to his eternal home.
He was united in holy matrimony to Mary Richards. To this union, seven children were born. Two children, Johnny and Charles Bennett and also a goddaughter, Millie Hughes, preceded him in death.
Howard leaves to cherish his memories: three daughters: a devoted daughter, Lavida Bennett, Lumpkin, Georgia, Regenia (Grady) Williams and Robin Bennett, Uniontown, Alabama; two sons, Larry (Leigh) Bennett, Jacksonville, Florida, and Albert (Joyclyn) Bennett, Ellenwood, Georgia; a daughter-in-law, Doreatha Bennett; three sisters, Letisha Bennett, Louise Shears, and Elnora Bennett, Safford, Alabama; one brother, William (Mary) Bennett, Safford, Alabama; one sister-in-law, Aurelia (Willie) Moore; eight grandchildren, Antonio, Natalia, LaMarcus, Kamona, Brandon, Jasmine, and Kala; (One grandson, Atemious, preceded him in death.) three great grandchildren, Antanita, Aleria, and LaMarcus, Jr; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
