Mr. Andrew Fred Johnson was born on September 6, 1939, to Mrs. Commie Lee Brown Garrett and Mr. Charlie Johnson. He departed this earthly life and entered into eternal rest on Sunday, April 1, 2018, at his home.
"Fred", as he was affectionately called by family and friends, attended Ida S. Lowery Elementary School in Webster County, Georgia and Richland High & Industrial School, Richland, Georgia At an early age, he joined New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Preston, Georgia. In 2002, he retired from CSX Transportation after thirty-one years of employment. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars, welding, and many other hobbies. He would help others in any way that he could, and he showed unconditional love to all of his family and friends.
His mother and father; his children, Mr. Charlie Earl Johnson, Mr. Ray Charles Johnson, Miss Annie Louise Johnson, and Miss Sherita Renea Johnson; his brothers and sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Blackmon, Mr. Eddie C. Johnson, Mr. Ulysses Johnson, Mr. McArthur Garrett, Mr. Wayne Johnson, Mr. Prother Griffin, and Mrs. Gloria Morris, preceded him in death.
Fred leaves to cherish his loving memories: his loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Johnson of Richland, Georgia; his children, Mr. KD (Sheila) Johnson of Leesburg, Georgia, Mr. Fred Lee (Gloria) Johnson of Buena Vista, Georgia, Mrs. Sarah Hudson (Richard) of Buena Vista, Georgia, Ms. Annie Lois "Princess" Johnson of Richland, Georgia, Mr. Melvin L. (Tracey) Thomas of Preston, Georgia, and Ms. Nateeira Hodges of Atlanta, Georgia; eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; loving brothers and sisters-in-law, Mr. Jake (Vivian) Thomas, Jr., Ms. Lizzie Thomas, Ms. Gussie Mae Thomas, Mr. Arthur (Patricia) Thomas, and Mr. Joseph Thomas; a special aunt, Ms. Lucille Culpepper of Lumpkin, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, one special cousin, Mr. Bernes Culpepper of Richland, Georgia, and other cousins; one special friend, Mr. Charles Threats of Lumpkin, Georgia, and other friends.Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Richland H&I Learning Center, Richland, Georgia. Interment Service will follow in Parker Cemetery, Preston, Georgia.
