On Monday, August 27, 2018, the Lord whispered softly to Freddy Dewitt Thomas that it was time to take his rest.
Freddy Dewitt Thomas was born in Cusseta, Georgia on January 21, 1949, to the late Dewitt Thomas, Jr. and the late Annie Kate Thomas. He accepted Christ at an early age and joined St. Paul C.M.E. Church, Cusseta, Georgia.
He enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Medal, and numerous others. He served our country with honor and pride.
Surviving his departure with cherished memories: one son, Reginald Jarvis Cladd (Rhonda) of Leesburg, Georgia; one daughter, Lisa Brown of Winston Salem, North Carolina; one sister, Alberta Thomas Vicks (Jimmy) of Albany, Georgia; five grandchildren; one niece, Tara Vicks; one nephew, Jimmy Vicks, Jr.; and a host of loving aunts; several cousins; other relatives and friends.
Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Mount Olive Cemetery, Cusseta, Georgia.
