Mrs. Mumtaz "Taz" Mahal Moses was born in Brooklyn, New York on June 18, 1968 to Ms. Gwendolyn Johnson. She was the baby out of nine brothers and four sisters. "Taz", as she was called by family and friends, departed this life on August 16, 2010 at Stewart-Webster Hospital, Richland, Georgia.
Shortly after birth, the family moved to Baltimore, Maryland where she lived until her preteen years. At the age of sixteen, she moved to Columbus, Georgia to live with her mother and a brother who was in the military. Once she was old enough to be on her own, she chose to keep this area as her home.
Mumtaz was introduced and fell in love with a young man who had just recently moved to her hometown. On January 17, 1992, she was united in holy matrimony to Ricky Moses. The Lord blessed them with two sons and a daughter. They lived in Columbus, Georgia for a short time and decided to move back to Ricky's hometown of Brooklyn, Georgia.
Mumtaz was baptized in the Lord in 2001 and later became a dedicated member of New Life Ministries in Brooklyn, Georgia.
She worked as a CNA at Four County Health Care, Richland, Georgia and later worked at S-Mart in Richland, Georgia. She enjoyed the comradery and the fellowship of the customers as they came through the door.
Her mother and three brothers preceded her in death: Ms. Gwendolyn Johnson, Mr. George Lee, Mr. Bobby Lee, and Mr. Phillip Washington.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Mr. Ricky Moses; two sons, Durrell Moses and Dantrell Moses; one daughter, Breanna Moses; six brothers, Mr. Russel Lee, Mr. Joseph Washington, Mr. Douglas Washington, Mr. Paul Washington, Mr. Michael Washington, and Mr. Solomon Washington; four sisters, Ms. Iris Washington, Ms. Gwen Washington, Mrs. Jamilah (Edward) Williams, Ms. Maryam Finley; a mother-in-law, Rev.
