Mrs. Ruthie Lee Minion Golden of 94 Coot Ford Road, Buena Vista, Georgia, passed away on May 6, 2010 at her residence.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Buena Vista, Georgia. The burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Our mother departed her Earthly life for her Spiritual life on May 6, 2010; she died at home surrounded by her granddaughter, one of her daughters, a son, and a grandson.
Mom joined the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church at an early age, where she was a faithful and dutiful member until her health started to fail.
Mom was born to the late Robert Minion, Sr. and the late Matilda Sanders on December 18, 1920. All of her siblings and one daughter (Geneva) preceded her in death. Our mother was united in holy matrimony to the late Samuel Golden in 1940. From their union, fourteen children were born. Her first, Samuel and her last, Louise, died shortly after being born.
Mom leaves to cherish her memories: seven daughters, Margaret Thornton (Arthur Lee) of Atlanta, GA, Matilda Irving (Eddress, Sr.) of Richland, GA, Annie Ennals (Cecil, Sr) of Port Norris, NJ, Emma Golden, Millville, NJ, Carolyn Robinson (Jackie) of Buena Vista, GA, Ossie Neal (Jerome) of Landover, MD, and Julia Holt of Buena Vista, GA; four sons, Willie Golden, Robert Golden, Ernest Golden (Ruby), and Hosea Golden, all of Buena Vista, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, one sister-in-law, Mary Minion of Plains, Georgia, and friends
Our mom had a very big heart; she was instrumental in the upbringing of her nieces and nephews until they reached maturity and moved away. She raised her family to be God fearing children and to have respect for others. She was known to feed the neighborhood, never turning anyone away if they asked for something to eat because our mother could cook!
Not only was mom a great mother, but she was an awesome grandmother as well. She leaves behind thirty-six grandchildren, fifty-nine great-grand- children, and fourteen great-great-grandchildren.
Mom will be missed by all of us, and the legacy she leaves with us will be cherished. Sleep on mother, take your rest, we all love you, but God loves you best! Good night to our Queen, we will see you in the morning. We Love You!
